Phoenixville Foundry - Phoenixville, PA

The Phoenix Iron Company Foundry was built in 1882. It served as an iron and steel factory and poured iron castings well into the 1970’s. They closed their doors in 1987.

Most of the buildings at the Foundry were torn down, but not the foundry building. The building stood abandoned for a decade and eventually was on the list of Pennsylvania’s Most Endangered Buildings.

It is now the home of the Schuylkill River Heritage Center which showcases historic artifacts of the former Phoenix Iron and Steel Company. The foundry also offers 18,000 square feet of event space with all of the modern amenities; serving as a facility that can accommodate a variety of events from formal weddings to conferences to live performances and exhibit space.

Located at: 2 North Main Street, Phoenixville, PA
