Penn Aire Motel Sign - Breezewood, PA
During our road trip we passed the Penn Aire Motel sign and had to stop and take a photo.
The abandoned Penn Aire Motel is located in Breezewood, PA and was built in 1939. Penn Aire was run by Jeannette and Mickey McFarland. The motel had 33 rooms, a private pool and color tv’s. The motel changed hands in 1982 and several times after.
Breezewood was once known as the “City of Motels” along the PA Lincoln Highway. Now most are abandoned. The doors were closed on this hotel around 2008.
