Marvel Carriage Museum
A wonderful gentleman gave us a tour and history lesson of the 1832 one room schoolhouse, the 1890 Methodist Church and many other buildings at the Marvel Carriage Museum.
The exhibits include antique carriages, telephone booths, a blacksmith shop, small gas station, Western Union Store, model trains, and so much more.
The land and buildings were gifted to the Georgetown Historical Society by the estate of Nutter D. Marvel Sr. on December 19, 1996. During Mr. Marvel’s lifetime he had moved and restored many of the historic buildings that are currently on the Georgetown property.
