KISS Monument - Cadillac, MI
In 1973 the Cadillac Vikings football team had an amazing season with 9 wins and 0 losses. In 1974 they started the season with two losses. The coaches decided to play music in the locker room to get the team pumped before the game. Coach Brines chose KISS. The team won the remaining 7 games with KISS as their inspiration. KISS heard about what the team was doing and in October of 1975 they paid a surprise visit and played at Cadillac High School’s homecoming.
In October of 2015, the 40th anniversary, an 8 foot-tall black granite monument was placed at the Cadillac High School honoring “The Day KISS Came to Town”.
