Kinsey Log Cabin and Monument - Schellsburg, PA.
In 1795 the first log home, in the Schellsburg community, was erected by Jacob and Elizabeth Kemp Kinsey (Kintzy). Both were born in Germany in 1769. The homestead contained 439 acres.
The monument symbolizes the victories made by pioneer ancestors over the wilds. It was erected on the property in 1939 and is nestled in the woods, ninety feet from the cabin. It is able to be seen from the road.
The Jacob Kinsey Homestead and monument are located on Helixville Road, Schellsburg, PA, Bedford County.
