Fountain of Youth - Wexford, PA
Updated: Nov 2, 2021
In 1938 a natural spring was enclosed within a rock originally meant to be a grotto. The intent was to make it look like a Roman cavern. The spring was capped with a pump handle set into a hillside and over it was a stone disk inscribed Fountain of Youth.
I suppose we should have done more research before going. We thought we were going to be jumping around in the spring and getting our youth back. Instead we found that on May 11, 1955 the pump handle was removed and the spring declared contaminated so DON’T DRINK THE WATER OR BATH IN IT!

If you look all the way in the back it looks like a face on the wall.
