Delaware Breakwater East End Lighthouse - Lewes, DE

The Delaware Breakwater East End Lighthouse is located on the inner Delaware Bay, just off the coast of Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, DE. The massive breakwater began in 1828 and was completed in 1841. The lighthouse was built in 1885, standing 49 feet tall and operated for 111 years. The bay created a safe harbor for ships seeking refuge during storms.
