Crystal Cave - 150th Anniversary

Crystal Cave will celebrate its 150th anniversary on July 16, 2022 with tours of the cave, special visit by Senator Judy Schwank, live music, juggling, giveaways and anniversary cake.

The cave was discovered on November 12, 1871 by William Merkel and John Gehret. It officially opened in 1872 with “The Grand Illumination”. Crystal Cave is one of the oldest continuously operating show caves in the United States.
