Cookie Jar House - Glendora, NJ

The Cookie Jar House was built in 1947 or 1949 and was designed to survive an atomic blast. The 1,564 square foot home has 3 floors - the ground floor consists of a storage room and bathroom, first floor has a living room and kitchen and the third floor has 2 bedrooms. The roof is flat and the exterior was originally stucco.

The cookie jar house was supposed to be the first of an entire community but sadly only this one was built.

The home, which is a private residence, has been featured on HGTV’s Offbeat America. If you plan to visit, be considerate and keep a respectful distance when taking photos.

Located at: 1028 Rowand Avenue, Glendora, NJ
