1871 Phoenix Column Bridge - Phoenixville, PA
The Phoenix Column Bridge was built in 1871 for transportation to get to the Phoenix Iron Company buildings. The bridge was used as a “sample bridge” so people visiting the Phoenix Iron Company could see what their bridge would look like when they ordered parts from the company catalogue.
In 2002 the bridge was restored by the Phoenixville Area Economic Development Corporation. Today, the bridge is a pedestrian walkway and is located along the Schuylkill River Trail across from the historic Phoenixville Foundry Building.
