1766 Espy House, Pitt Street - Bedford, PA

The Espy House, built in 1766 by Colonel David Espy, and served as headquarters for President George Washington during the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794. President George Washington led a troop of 1200 to battle against farmers in western PA who refused to pay the whiskey excise tax.
